As they continued their journey he entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him.
She had a sister named Mary [who] sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak.
Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me.”
The Lord said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things.
There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.”
Luke 10:38-42 (NABRE)

He said, “This is how it is with the kingdom of God; it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land and would sleep and rise night and day and the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how.
Of its own accord the land yields fruit, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.
And when the grain is ripe, he wields the sickle at once, for the harvest has come.”
Mark 4:26-29 (NABRE)
Look at each picture. Read the connected bible verse – slowly, contemplatively – three times. Think about the bible verse as you allow yourself to get lost in the picture.
- What do you notice in the picture? What does your eye focus on?
- Put yourself in the picture. Where are you? What are you doing?
- How do you feel? How does it speak to your faith journey?
